Dear Friends and Guests–both those of you who have been coming here for many years and those I have yet to meet.
2020 was a tough year for most of us and our foremost thoughts and hopes are for healing in our country.
I have used the quiet Fall, Winter, & Early Spring to embark on a pretty significant renovation to the sunroom here. It has been stripped to the studs, shored up and has new windows and will have heat in the winter and more important, AC in the summer! Also, I am adding a kitchen with a full fridge, dishwasher, sink, microwave and countertop toaster oven for guest use. There will be some small tables for 2 and the rest of the space will be a place to relax and read, play games, visit with each other and I hope guests will consider longer stays so you can really unwind and spend some much needed time away from your daily life.
On that note, in taking reservations for 2021, I will be accepting only reservations with a minimum of 3 nights. This is because I am continuing to block a full night between reservations so that after checkout and thorough cleaning, the room will stay vacant for at least 24 hours before new guests check in. I did this in 2020 and we had a safe season, short as it was. I have not raised the nightly rate again for the 3rd year and hope you can understand this 3 night minimum request. As always, stays of 6 or 7 nights are discounted. If you can come only two nights, you might still be able to at least check in early, before 3 pm or checkout late after 11 am with the third night of the reservation.
The renovation includes changes to the room above the sunroom which was never accessible for guests. Part of that room will not be a laundry center and for guests staying a week or longer, access will be available to run a wash of your clothes during your stay. I hope you will enjoy the newly designed space and will post pictures as soon as as the finish work begins.
My best wishes to all that 2021 is everything you hope it to be for you and yours.
Lisa
